Fastener Estimates
Our calculator assumes joists are placed 16 inches on-center (O.C.). At 16" O.C., you need approximately 0.75 fasteners per linear foot of decking.
If you are building stairs or installing decking diagonally, you will likely need 12" O.C. spacing, which requires roughly 1 fastener per linear foot.
Disclaimer: Always manually verify framing details such as picture-framing and stair treads which require additional materials not accounted for in basic square footage.
